Stephanie A. Disen, LCSW
I came to this work through sustained proximity to complexity, working in environments where people carried high responsibility and little space to slow down. My focus is not on accelerating change, but on restoring clarity when pace and pressure make it difficult to hear what actually matters.
My work spans individual psychotherapy, group facilitation, and guided experiential spaces. Across these contexts, change depends on the same conditions: structure that creates steadiness and openness that allows something real to surface. When those elements are in place, insight becomes usable and forward movement becomes deliberate.
This practice, and the group spaces I create, are oriented toward recalibration. The work supports people in stepping out of internal constraints, regaining perspective, and re-entering their lives with greater agency and ease. It is grounded, practical, and focused on clarity that holds up over time.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Columbia University. I provide telehealth psychotherapy in New York and live in Austin, Texas, moving between Austin and New York City throughout the year.
